Jodie is a gay film and television writer based in South Wales whose TV pilot 'Mouse Circus' is on the 2022 Brit List and is in development with Boom Cymru. As well as being one of the 2022 Edinburgh TV Festival's Ones to Watch, she was also part of 2019/2020 BBC Writersroom Welsh Voices. She is also working on a book adaptation for Atlantic Nomad/Sprout Pictures and was recently in a writers' room for Strong Film and TV. Her recent Casualty episode, 'Confidence and Paranoia', won the RTS award for Continuing Drama.
Her feature script 'Spring Tide' was one of twelve projects selected for the global Attagirl development lab where it was awarded the development prize grant. She is currently developing this script with director Amy Coop, producer Daniel J. Harris (Focus Shift Films) and executive producer, Michele Turnure-Salleo (Feracious Entertainment). Her second feature, 'Resurrected', is in development with Muse Entertainment.
Her work has been performed on stage, screen and radio, and her short films have been shown at BIFA and BAFTA-qualifying festivals. She has extensive editorial experience and has worked as a storyliner, story editor and script editor, including on BAFTA, RTS and Rose d'Or winning episodes.
Jodie is drawn to narratives with an unlikely hero, particularly LGBTQ+, older, or female protagonists. Her work is often dark with a comedic edge and she enjoys finding the humour in classically serious subjects.
She is represented by Matt Connell and Maddie O'Dwyer at Berlin Associates.
